The main stumbling block in getting action on this topic  is that people don't see Global Climate Change as a problem for themselves.   Between the denial lead by the Republican power elite, and the inability of most humans to see things that are not obvious, Global Climate Change has been pretty much ignored by the average person.   

It is seen by most humans as an abstract threat-- as a distant threat in both space and time -- as a theoretical possibility to which they feel disconnected.   It's still commonly thought of by the financial elitists as nothing more that a hippie tree hugger's fantasy that is interfering with making a profit

Most people still think that  if it is real,  it's only a distant possibility.  It's not of immediate concern.   It's a concern for perhaps tomorrow or the next month, or next year.    It's considered to be something out there somewhere that the experts can deal with because it has no personal connection to them.    Typical response is something like this:

"The north pole is thousands of miles away.   Why should I care about what goes on there?" 

"One or two degrees hotter is no big deal.  I'm busy with _____ .  I simply don't care about my home ad my city being two degrees warmer."

Humans have been pumping millions of tons of methane and carbon dioxide, (CO²)  into the Earth's atmosphere.   This  has triggered  several global climate change processes that have become self perpetuating.    Here are just two of the most immediate issues:   

    The Greenland ice cap and  the polar ice caps and hundreds of mountain top glaciers are melting.   If this is allowed to continue,  over thirty percent of the world’s population without fresh water in the dry season.  

    The melting of the northern ice cap is already started the process of releasing the millions of tons of CO² frozen in the tundra and under the ocean in the northern hemisphere.   If this process  is allowed to continue, the Earth’s temperature will, within this century, rise about eighteen degrees Fahrenheit causing most large life forms on the entire planet to become extinct.

As is apparent to almost everybody, the Earth's climate is changing significantly and rapidly.   If global climate change continues unchecked, the future changes will be  so drastic that most life forms on the entire planet will perish.   The methane release process in northern hemisphere  is presently feeding itself and growing bigger daily.   It's like a snowball rolling down hill --  the more it rolls the bigger it gets.   We must intervene and reverse this process by stopping the flow of human-created, methane and Carbon dioxide, gases to the atmosphere.  If we don't,  the presently-underway, Global Climate Change process  will, all by itself, simply follow it's own course and produce major environmental changes of  Earth -- changes that,  for humans and most other life forms, will be a deadly disaster.

For example,  if the Greenland ice cap, the polar ice caps, and the mountain glaciers continue to melt at the present rate, sea levels will rise by approximately forty feet by the year 2099.   Imagine places like  New York, London, Washington D.C., and southern Florida under forty feet of water.   Coastal cities around the globe such as New York New Orleans,  London, Venice would become  uninhabitable.   Displacement of the human population from coastal areas, would, in and of itself, overwhelm all the present social structures.

With the loss of the mountain ice caps, millions of square miles of land would lose their late summer water supplies and, as a result,  the vegetation and animals in these areas will simply die.   Humans dependent upon these plants and animals would also die.

Pollution levels in the oceans have reached critical levels  -- levels so high that they  threaten to kill or drastically alter most, if not all,  life forms that live  in the ocean.   And there's much more that's too 

Some of you are saying,  "This is just a theory."     BUT . . .   Are you willing to bet the future of humanity on a belief that is daily being proven wrong?   Thousands or pieces of evidence are available today and they all point in the same direction.  They all tell the same message and that message is "WAKE UP OR DIE!    (See the section titled:  Bet to Pot Ratio which explains why even if you think Global Climate Change is NOT real you should be acting as if it IS real.)

What Is Needed:   In order for this problem to become real in the eyes of the public, we must show people how they are personally affected -- how their lives are already being altered by Global Climate Change.    The message needs to be graphic.   It needs to transmit its content in ten seconds or less.   It needs to hit the viewer's emotions.   It needs to affect their home -- their personal living space.

For those of you who are not familiar with the details of the rapture, what the really means, and the behavior it inspires in believers,  please see the page titled:  The Rapture.°     

If you believe in "the rapture," you're not concerned  about Global Climate Change.    Unfortunately,  you do have one small problem.   An in-depth investigation into the origin and credibility of "the rapture" story tells us this:   1) That there is no evidence to support this story outside the scattered and  highly-interpreted passages in the Christian Bible, 2)  There is a 99.99% chance that this tale is just a religiously inspired story,  3)  That "the rapture" story brings large donations to the church leaders who sell it to their followers,  and 4)  that this story in one form or another has been peddled by religious leaders for about nineteen-hundred years.   Are you willing to bet your children's and your grandchildren's lives on "the rapture?"   

What if you are wrong?    God will still do whatever God intends to do, so if you work with us in curbing Global Climate Change and "the rapture" is real, you still win.   But if you bet on and support" the rapture" and you're wrong, you lose BIG TIME!    

If you support "the rapture" and it doesn't show up, you end up living or, more likely,  prematurely dying on a planet that you helped or allowed to be irreversibly damaged.   You children and grand children, if there are any still alive, will either hate you, think you were a damned fool, or both.   The planet will be dramatically altered and those changes could trigger the death of most of the world's plants and animals and most if not all humans.   Is that the kind of bet you want to make.
