With about thirty-five years of working and studying
religion,
philosophy, self-awareness, and the Technology of Prayer,
Here's This Author's Assessment of "The Secret."
This assessment ranks "The Secret" terms of:
1) using it to successfully connect to and co-create with
God and
2) using it to successfully change one's life:

The Video,
"The Secret," is an
excellent beginning, however, there
are some significant misleading
implications and some even more
significant
omissions.
The rules of
reality (the rules for intentionally
re-creating your life) are much bigger than simply sitting
around making positive
affirmations. Those of us who
have been on the self-transformation
path for decades can attest to
that.
Relying on "The Secret,"
to change your life
is like going to a restaurant, ordering dinner, and the waiter
brings you a salad only. It's
nice but there's a lot more to
dinner than just a
salad. So it is with
"The Secret." It's a
nice entree, but where's
dinner.
When you
listen closely to what the experts
say, the real message in this
video is "CORRECTLY
USING the law of
attraction will change your
life." Unfortunately
for its viewers, The Secret is
infinitely quiet in the "How
to..." department. Ok, now that
I have this wonderful tool, what do
I do with it? How do I
use it?
In terms of
it's effectiveness at personal transformation,
it's grossly incomplete.
It's an excellent wake up call, but
has little to offer beyond
that.

Here's
where
"The Secret"
ranks in
relation of other
modalities
of personal growth and transformation:

Traditional Religion
-- learning to participate in a traditional religion is like going to grammar school.
You begin to play life but you really have no idea what's actually going
on. Traditional religion, no matter which religion we learned,
is simply what our parents taught
us, which they learned from their
parents, who learned it form their
parents, et cetera, et cetera -- in
some cases going back a thousand
years. Many of us have blindly
accepted our parent's beliefs without question.
"The Secret" -- watching the video, "The Secret" is
like going to high school -- You get a
basic survival-level education. You begin to wake up and realize there is a
world our there that you didn't know before, and there's a way to interact with it.
Viewing "The Secret" is a
valuable start in seeing a bigger picture of life and reality, but you still have no real specialized knowledge and all but no
experience. Many of us have known and applied the secret (the law of
attraction) to our
lives and found the results to be sporadic at best.

Do We Know"
and "Down the Rabbit Hole" --
These two, excellent videos are like going to college. They take viewer
well beyond anything "The
Secret" has to offer. They
give viewers a
big-time wake-up call. You realize that the
world is not as you have been led to believe it is by
those who claim to know. You realize you
have been making irreversible, life-altering decisions
based on false, incomplete, or intentionally deceptive
information. You study the
evidence, you learn much and have some very special and very valuable
